Sewage backup extraction
Describe whether the backup came from a toilet, drain or sewer connection, which rooms were affected and whether the source is still backing up. Confirm that the provider accepts contaminated-water jobs before making arrangements.
Not every toilet overflow is the same
A supply connection leak and a bowl overflow may involve different conditions. Explain where the water came from and whether waste was involved. Leave contamination assessment to the receiving professional rather than choosing a category yourself.
Category 3 water and specialist scope
Category 3 is a water-contamination classification, not a synonym for every biohazard service. This page concerns water-related contamination; trauma, unattended-death and drug-residue cleanup are outside its scope.
Cleaning, affected materials and odors
Ask which materials need removal, how cleaning and any disinfection are handled, and how the area will be assessed before re-use. Odor treatment should follow source assessment; fragrances do not resolve residual contamination. Sewer or drain repairs may require a plumber.
