Describe the location of the leak
Tell the provider whether the affected area is near an indoor unit, a drain line, an attic installation or a ceiling below the equipment. Moisture near AC equipment does not by itself establish which component failed.
HVAC repair and water cleanup
An HVAC technician may need to diagnose a condensate drain, drain pan or equipment issue. Cleanup addresses the resulting wet materials. Ask which work is included and whether a separate HVAC visit is needed before drying can remain effective.
Ceilings, insulation and nearby finishes
If water has traveled through an attic or ceiling, describe stains, sagging or softened material without entering an unsafe area. A provider can explain what needs assessment and whether access, removal or later reconstruction is required.
Repeated leaks and odors
Mention previous drainage repairs, recurring stains and any musty smell. A recurring mark may reflect an unresolved water source; painting over it does not establish that the underlying problem has been corrected.
